muddy boots and bottoms… a trip to Bucklebury Farm Park

As a little post 3rd birthday get together, we visited Bucklebury Farm Park in Berkshire with Olivia and the girls’ friend Penelope, It is a firm favourite of Harriet’s and we have been going since she was about 9 months old.

Bucklebury Farm Park is a lovely place to visit in the summer months, with plenty of space for picnics and playtime in the sun, but what they also do really well is cater for the wet and dreary days that we tend to get more often than not during the winter.

The Park also has a large zip wire, a brilliant jumping pillow (which I will admit to often having a go on myself) a pedal go-kart track and an obstacle course as well as a nature trail and wild walk which are great for pre-schoolers learning all about nature and the seasons.

For indoor fun, there are two astro slides and a climbing frame and tube slide in the barn.

The highlight of the girls’ day (apart from jumping in muddy puddles) was the tractor-trailer ride to see the deer. The deer, in particular the males, come right up to the trailer and you can feed them by hand. It’s a great ride and the drivers are really informative and friendly.

The other animals at Bucklebury Farm Park include, wild boar, pygmy goats, Shetland ponies, pigs, donkeys, cows and reindeer. The latter come down to the barns in December for Christmas time. In the pat-a-pet section you can get up close to guinea pigs and rabbits.

Woody’s café, which is located at Bucklebury Farm Park was a welcome retreat from the cold. They have a large log burner and a delightful assortment of homemade cakes and treats. The food is always scrummy and they have a good choice of hearty warm meals as well as salads and homemade sandwiches for parents and minis. A bonus for me is that they also make a good coffee, something that’s not always easy to find!

It looks fabulous there, love that you can feed the deer from the trailer! Animals to feed and mud to squelch, with yummy food on offer, hard to beat :) #CountryKids

It looks like a lot of muddy fun was had that day. It’s great that there’s so much for the kids to do around the farm including the pat-a-pet where they can get up close to the animals. It’s great that the deer are so tame as well, ours will come close but won’t let you had feed them. Thanks for linking up with Country Kids.
