I popped into London the other day for dinner when I found myself with half an hour to spare so I thought what better way to pass the time by having a peak at some make-up. I came across the YSL counter the this 10 colour eyeshadow palette immediately caught my eye. Called Couture variation it is a beautifully packaged selection of some very wearable and bendable eye colours.

Out of the ten colours, there are three matt (the lefthand side base colour and the third and last from the right) which can be used to make a simple everyday look and the other highlighter shades can be layered to create a multitude of finishes. The colour embossed with the YSL logo is a gorgeous taupe colour with the silvery shimmer through it. The peachy orange colour second from the left is great for blue eyes, in fact they all seem like very flattering, useable shades.

Below are some attempted selfies to try and show you what some of the colours look like. I’ve used no separate eyeliner, I’ve just added mascara. They can easily be toned up or down for a daytime or evening look. I feel the colours are perfect for the soft smokey eye look which seems to have hit some of the catwalks for Autumn/Winter 2015.

To apply they are velvety soft and the colour if fantastic. The brush supplied is also a good quality one which can be used to apply and blend and although I do use my regular applicators, it is good to know they could be popped into your bag and would be ready to apply when required. The YSL Couture Variation eyeshadow palette is available here. I feel it is a palette I will be getting a lot of use out of.
