We love a bit of faux here and have been noticing so many faux fur gilets in the shops recently. They make for an easy warm layer when the temperatures start to plummet, but leave your arms a bit freer for life as a busy mum. Perfect for the chaos of school run mornings and also a pretty and smart option for the office too.
So here is the long and short of it…
Long gilets
- £75.00 This faux leather version from Esprit with a wide shawl collar and shaggy woven fur lining is tapered and longer at the front so has a nice flattering fit. We love this and it may have just made its way into the shopping basket!
2. £150.00 This Whistles number is gorgeously soft and cut with a high neck and leather paneling on the inside. Beautifully smart and the perfect day to evening option.
3. £55.00 ASOS do some great own brand pieces and this gilet is no exception. Brown is always a good option, as it’s somewhat more casual. We can see this looking just as good with wellies as it does with heels.
4. £113.40 (reduced from £252.00!) a bargain for such a beautiful piece. This DKNY number is probably a little more on the smarter side than the school run… But it’s just too lovely not to include. Hurry though, it’s only left in a large on The Outnet website.
Short gilets
- £109.00 Mint Velvet always have a great range of gilets each Winter. We love their shades of grey – perfect very season. This is a great casual style that looks spot on with jeans.
2. £34.99 This New Look one is a great price, gorgeous colour, and could be worn smart or casual. Worn well, it really could look far more expensive.
3. £55.00 from Oasis, this is a gorgeous colour and being shorter, means that you can look a little less bulky. Perfect for the warmer Winter days.
