With the festival season in full swing now many of us take our little ones to one of the many family friendly festivals on offer. At a festival, as a Mum, you want to be stylish and festival-ready but the clothing needs to be practical and comfortable and Mum always has to be prepared with all the must-haves a day out with the family entails.
1. Anouk parka coat by Parka London £161.00 (in Sale) – Sadly, glorious sunshine cannot be guaranteed at a festival so this parka is a stylish but oh-so practical solution if rain should decide to make an appearance.
2. Halwell Print Jumpsuit by Baukjen £129.00 – It is not secret that we love a jumpsuit. So easy to wear and comfortable whilst still looking as though you’ve made an effort. Katie has this one and finds it so versatile and being made from soft jersey will be comfortable option for wearing all day (and night!) at a festival.
3. Vincent wellington boots at Topshop £30.00 – An alternative to the usual Hunter wellies. They look less like a wellington boot and have a biker boot style perfect for a festival.
4. Rollable Panama Hat by Tumi Fino from £68.75 – Hopefully the sun does at some point make an appearance at your festival of choice, a sun hat is perfect but you want one which is easy to carry and a rollable Panama Hat is timeless yet easy to pack (also good for holidays – Georgie has one and it goes everywhere with her in the summer).
5. Black vest by Selfish Mother £25.00 – We’ve featured the sweatshirts by Selfish Mother before but this vest is a perfect pairing with the shorts when the sun shines.
6. Denim shorts by Hush £45.00 – We all hope for good weather and if we are blessed with sun at a festival then these shorts are a great option – a longer hem at the back than the front helps retain some modesty and the denim is soft so comfortable. Georgie has these and can’t wait for summer to start in ernest so they can get an outing!
7. Egret All Star Metallic Missoni by Converse £74.99 – Better than wearing sandals at a festival as they all take place in various fields.
8. Rainbow cashmere jumper by Wyse London £145.00 – we met this fabulous company at the Spirit of Summer exhibition at Olympia. This would be perfect as the sun goes down to keep you warm. Their cashmere is so gorgeously soft and they gave us a brilliant tip – their cashmere can be washed on a machine wool wash with Johnson’s Baby Shampoo – apparently it washes really well!
9. Plaited necklace by Sonny & Flo £10.00 – The Sonny and Flo necklaces are just that bit different to what you find on the highstreet but are totally wearable.
10. Warm Yellow Classic backpack by Kanken £70.00 – We have featured Kanken a couple of times now and we still feel they are fantastic backpacks for carrying around all the family’s essentials. The Kanken has a large opening making it easy to find things as well as a seat pad tucked int eh back to provide a seat on the go!
11. SPF 15 sunscreen for body (18.95) and SPF 30 sunscreen for face (£14.95) by Green People – We all hope the sun shines when we go to a festival and its always better to fake a tan than expose our skin to the sun and whilst a little dose of Vitamin D is great, we also want to keep those wrinkles at bay. We were kindly sent the face cream to try and it was great as it absorbed easily and was a good base on which to apply make-up. We loved it so much we went on to purchase the body sunscreen. These creams are great for sensitive skin and are non-greasy.
12. Festival Kit by Emma Lomax £26.00 – this cute, bright pouch comes with some festival basics but being Mum we would add some plasters, antibacterial wipes and Savlon!
13. Beauty Elixir by Caudalie £11.00 – Perfect as a little pick-me-up refresh during the day if you start to flag. We featured this in one of our You Tube posts which you can see .
14. Reusable glass and silicone water bottle by BKR £25.00 – beautifully designed and perfect for keeping hydrated throughout the day.
15. Fujifilm Instax instant camera and film by Fujifilm £74.10 – This is a bit of fun to capture moments instantly and to keep without them being lost on a computer.
