Beanie & Bear can truly be called a family affair. It was started by Noya, a mother of two (“Beanie” and “Bear”), a graphics designer and children’s illustrator. She felt that the swimwear on offer for kids was bland and uninspiring so she set to work designing a range of kid’s swimwear for boys and girls which is playful and reflects the fun kids should be having when frolicking about in the sun. Her children are her inspiration through Beanie’s illustrations and Bear’s durability testing (as well as their modelling abilities) and her husband photographed the beautiful lookbook along with putting together a B&B Beats playlist.
We love that the pieces can be mixed and matched creating an endless summer holiday wardrobe. The neon splashes of colour and detailing create a immediate focus for the brand (along with a the lighting bolt logo) whilst at the same time, making it easy to spot your mini on the beach or by the pool amongst the other kids. The T-shirts are extremely soft to the touch – an important consideration with Harry and his sensitive skin. Little design features such as the cord on the boys’ swimming trunks gliding through the waistband easily (making them quick and easy to do up on Harry’s slim waist), make these pieces outstanding in their quality.
Beanie & Bear have ensured that all of their products are ethically sourced and are made in Great Britain, something which we are pleased to see and which makes the collection perfect for our mini generation who will hopefully grow up appreciating good design and understanding social welfare.
