We were lucky enough to attend the Monsoon Spring Summer 2016 Collection Press Day yesterday and boy did they get us in the mood for some sunshine next year!
We saw that the trends for khaki and neons will carry on into next season and Monsoon also showcased the most stunning evening dresses and as we have come to expect from them, fabulous boho inspired embroidered pieces.
Starting with our favourite Boho inspired pieces… They were out in abundance with something for everyone. The embellished jackets could easily take you from cooler Spring days right to hot Summer’s days and nights. See the fabulous black jacket worn with a bikini underneath for example.
The soft muted palette of this embroidered blouse is really beautiful. So soft to the touch, we don’t see this style (which will be available as a blouse or a dress) hanging around for long.

There were some gorgeous pairs of Khaki hareem trousers in varying different styles on show. We are both very partial to a hareem trouser these days. Another great Khaki piece was this thin cotton shirt.
And deserving a picture all to itself was this gorgeous embellished military jacket. It’s the top of our list that’s for sure.

There were some perfect pieces for going from beach to bar and wherever in between. The Missoni inspired designs were divine. Our favourite was this flowing kaftan. Wear it with a huge wide-brimmed straw hat for the beach and then dress it up with a slip underneath and some fabulous gladiator sandals for a night on the tiles. Ibiza here we come.

Next, these silky satin pieces full of shine were exquisite. The colours were bold and bright and reminiscent of drinking aperativo on a balcony overlooking the Amalfi coast.

And last but by no means least, the evening gown offering this year was stunning. Monsoon is most definitely known as the place to go for a party dress and the coming season will in no way disappoint. Think heavy embellished gowns with sequins, lace and chiffon. This was our favourite of the bunch…
The floral displays at the gallery were superb. The room was full of vibrant colours and had a real tropical jungle feel about it. We adored the orchid walls of foliage, simply stunning. Dragging Harriet away was the hard part.
