Design Letters was founded in 2009 by Mette Thomsen, a former journalist and copywriter. As a mother, she was looking for decor for her kid’s rooms which wasn’t fussy but simple and stylish. In 2011, Mette discovered hand drawn typography by Danish architect Arne Jacobsen (you will recognise his designs which are seen everywhere, such as the Series 7 chair which combines simplicity with functionality as well as comfort), which he produced in 1937 and went on to secure the right to use his vintage typography in Design Letters’ products, making them famous around the world.
New designs from the brand include three new items added to their tableware range (the Bib £12.99, Kid’s placemat £14.99 and the Drink lids for the melamine cups £6.99) and Baby Books (which include 12 milestone cards) – we wish these books had been available when our little ones were born! They will retail at £39.99.
