Pop-Up LONDON by Jennie Maizels

Fancy a pop-up tour of London? Then look no further than this fabulous 3D delight  by Jennie Maizels…

Follow the River Thames and take a black cab ride among the sites of London. Start off at Kew Gardens, head to Harrods for a spot of shopping, pop in and visit the Queen at Buckingham Palace, take a spin on the London Eye, absorb some culture with a look inside Shakespeare’s Globe, cross Tower Bridge and finish off at the O2. Phew! And that is in no way all of it.

by Jennie Maizels is a visual treat for minis and grown-ups too. Harriet is fascinated by the book and it can keep her busy for hours (overseen by me, because otherwise little fingers have a tendency to pull at bits). She loves recognising some of the landmarks that we have been to visit.

A true 3D feat, open the flaps, move the soldiers in the marching band and race the boats in the Oxford vs Cambridge boat race on the Thames. Turn the book around and you get a whole lot more. Learn about Madame Tussauds, Marble Arch, join the Prime Minister at 10 Downing Street and in the Commons and visit The Tower of London – I could go on and on.

Filled with interesting facts too – I didn’t actually know that the Queen owns all of the dolphins and whales in the seas around the UK…

by Jennie Maizels is a definite recommendation from minis AND MORE… If you would like to find out more about Jennie Maizels, then take a look at her great website, and don’t miss out on her eye-catching iron-on patches which are another favourite of ours. They are perfect for school bags, sports kits and number and alphabet learning as featured in our Learning the Alphabet post here.
