Role play takes up a big part of our minis’ days now. From playing vets and doctors, to circus clowns and with lots and lots of dressing up in between. Harriet received a lovely Haba doorway puppet theatre for Christmas and it has proved such a success that we thought we would see what other puppet theatre options there are on the market.
Here are a few of our favourites we have come across…
1. Chevalier Child’s puppet theatre £129.90 – a little boys dream. We adore this. Multi-use, like so many here. This can be used a fort, a den, a theatre and so much more…
2. Vilac 8608 Wooden Nathalie Lété Theatre £99.55 – the colours and print are fabulous on this Vilac theatre and create such a whimsical feel. We can’t see how children wouldn’t feel inspired to create stories of magical lands when using this one.
3. Wooden Puppet Theatre & Marionette Stage – Blue & White £65.00 – a floor standing theatre with removable legs that transform it into a table top theatre. This children’s play theatre is a real classic design which we love and the addition benefit of this one is that it can be changed into a table top version. Perfect for when your children get a bit taller.
4. Tildo Play Shop & Theatre £59.00 – a shop on one side and a theatre on the other. Such a great idea, and means that you can cater for different children in one household, whatever their age and interests may be.
5. Ikea Skylta £10.00 – how can you ever go wrong with Ikea? This would be a perfect Summertime purchase, for when you have lots of your children’s friends over in the holidays. And for £10, when it’s well and truly on its last legs, you won’t be too worried about adding it to the recycling.
6. Wild Things Funky Little Dresses Personalised Doorway Theatre from £75.00 – Roll up! A fabulous and colourful theatre that can be personalised with your child’s name in circus font and curtains can be drawn before the performance starts. We love the bold colours. The theatre also includes a set of hand puppets.
7. Moulin Roty Fabric Shadow Theatre £29.75 – hang this gorgeously printed sheet in front of a bright lamp or window and you are ready to create whimsical stories from your imagination. This Theatre of Shadows also includes a small selection of Moulin Roty shadow puppets.
